Rastriya Jana Morcha. It was called to oppose federalism and to make people aware of what exactly is federalism and how it is going to affect the people of Nepal. Some wondered why call the bandh right on the mouth of the festival season and they had a great and a simple explanation, they said it was the right time to call the bandh 'cause it would make the most impact this time of the year. If it was done in other times, people would just take it as another bandh but at this time it would make people think about federalism and during the holiday talk about it with their family members and think about it. The explanation was good and definetely we do need to think about the affect of federalism in Nepal. But again the timing of da' bandh did make a lot of people feel uncomfortable.Well, the strike was called from 6am to 5 pm. After 5, life must've came to normal. I don't know 'cause rested da' whole day today.

Also I wanted to add that the whole concept of federalism is an issue that should be a part of lobby and advocacy to the CA members... one day bandh, vandalising public property etc is an easy way out.. there should dialogues and constant engagements.. and need to understand the different groups.. and who is demanding what... etc... taking into consideration the background too..
btw I think someone like you should also push for agenda of women and minority groups..
